Inspired by various books and films including Mathias Énard's novel, Compass, Alain Resnais' film, Hiroshima, Mon Amour (1959), Horacio Castellanos Moya's novel, Senselessness, and many others, the album aims to balance the unbearable sadness of existence with the beauty of being in love. Orchestrated through melancholic and nostalgic chord progressions, dissonant/atonal bursts, and hopeful wisps of analog synths, the album moves forward like chapters in a book, each track its own story and spectrum of emotions, before ending on a hopeful note for the future.

Produced in my home studio using a Prophet-6, Grandmother, Subharmonicon, MS-20 mini, Hydrasynth, various pedals, and Ableton, using a mix of presets and homemade patches.
